Powell renews call for Iran's accounting of nuclear program
WASHINGTON (AFP) Sep 14, 2003
Iran must make a full accounting of its alleged nuclear programs or face United Nations action, US Secretary of State Colin Powell said Sunday.

"If it doesn't, then it's a matter that will be put before the Security Council for action the Security Council might deem appropriate," Powell told Fox television when asked what would happen if Iran does not meet an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) deadline to make a full accounting of its nuclear programs.

"But I wouldn't prejudge that until we see what Iran does after it reflects on what it is now facing, which is the will of the international community coming together to say, 'you have violated your obligations, and it is time for you to sign additional protocols and satisfy the international community that you are not developing programs for nuclear weapons'."
