Russia will send two warships to take part in the Baltops 2004 international military exercise in the Baltic sea, which is to start June 2, a navy spokesman said Tuesday.

The two ships from Russia's Baltic fleet will join the wargame which will last for up to 13 days and be followed by a debriefing session in the German port of Kiel, the Interfax-AVN news agency quoted the spokesman as saying.

Fifty ships from 15 countries, many of them NATO members, will take part in the drills, the spokesman said.
