. Bush sticks by diplomacy on Iran, North Korea
WASHINGTON (AFP) Dec 20, 2004
US President George W. Bush said Monday that he would continue to use multilateral diplomacy to convince surviving "axis of evil" members North Korea and Iran to give up their nuclear programs.

"I stand on continuing the six-party talks with North Korea to convince Kim Jong-Il to give up his weapons systems," Bush said at a White House press conference.

"With the Iranian situation as well, we're relying upon others ... to send a message that we expect them to (abandon their nuclear ambitions)," he added.

"We expect them to listen to the voices and we're a part of the universal acclaim," Bush said. "This is how we're dealing with the issue."
