. Iranian foreign minister arrives in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD (AFP) Dec 27, 2004
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi flew into Islamabad Monday for talks with Pakistani leaders in the wake of pressures on Tehran over its nuclear programme, officials said.

During a two-day visit Kharazi will meet President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and hold formal talks with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Kasuri, foreign office spokesman Masood Khan said.

Economic cooperation, including a proposed gas pipeline between Iran and Pakistan, will come up for discussion, he added.

Kharazi will also tell Pakistani officials about Iran's recent talks with European countries on nuclear issues and its contact with the International Atomic Energy Agency, he said.

The father of Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme, Abdul Qadeer Khan, in February this year publicly confessed to selling secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea.

Musharraf gave Khan a conditional pardon and said no government or military body was involved in the proliferation scandal.
