. Chile to buy three frigates from Britain's Royal Navy

Chile has agreed to buy three frigates from Britain's Royal Navy for 350 million dollars in a deal that will help modernize the South American country's sea forces, the Ministry of Defence said Friday.

"They are missile and anti-air missile-equipped," Admiral Rodolfo Codina, the commander of Chile's Navy said of the three British war ships.

Codina will travel to Britain next week to finalize the deal.
