Iran agrees 'in principle' to Solana visit on nuclear offer TEHRAN, May 21 (AFP) May 21, 2008 Iran said on Wednesday said it agreed in principle to a visit by EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana to deliver a package being drawn up by world powers in a new bid to persuade Tehran to halt controversial nuclear work. "Solana has given us a message that he wants to travel to Iran to deliver the package and we have agreed to the principle of the visit," Foreign Minister Manoucheher Mottaki was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency. On the timing of the visit, Mottaki would only say: "It will be announced when it is fixed." A US official said last week that six world powers have completed the details of a "refreshed" offer they will present to Iran to try to end the long-running nuclear standoff.
