Northrop Grumman Announces Team For $250M Joint Warfighting Center Bid

Northrop Grumman has selected a core team of partner companies for its bid to continue providing exercise and event support to the U.S. Joint Forces Command's Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC).

Under the $250 million, five-year contract, the selected contractor will support the JWFC by planning and executing joint exercises and events; conducting crisis rehearsals; coordinating joint modeling and simulation; and developing and assessing training capabilities. The contract is expected to be awarded late next year.

The JWFC prepares combatant command staffs, joint task forces and the individual services to fight as a collaborative team, or a "joint force." JWFC's Joint National Training Capability creates joint warfighting conditions through a collection of networked training sites linked to real-world command-and-control systems.

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector is leading a team that will continue to include Cubic Defense Applications, San Diego, and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Arlington, Va.

"We've selected several other companies that are on the transformation edge of training technologies, and we are actively seeking partners to round out the team," said Keith Beavers, director of Advanced Warfighting Solutions for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.

"Since our team began supporting the JWFC 12 years ago, our role has evolved from strictly training support to being a full partner in the global war on terrorism and conducting 'live-virtual-constructive' events anytime, anywhere," Beavers said.

"By combining proven industry leaders with a new stable of highly agile and leading-edge training technologists, we are confident this new team will only strengthen our partnership with JWFC and support its mission of transformation through training."

Northrop Grumman is forming a team of partner companies for the anticipated competition of the U.S. Army's Joint Network Node (JNN) program. JNN is a suite of Internet protocol-based communication systems that provide for satellite connectivity and communications.
