BAE, Boeing receive Trident missile contracts by Geoff Ziezulewicz Washington (UPI) Oct 4, 2016
BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services and Boeing have each received U.S. Navy contracts for work on the Trident II missile system. BAE's $56 million, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee deal will provide systems engineering and integration services in support of the weapon system, as well as the SSGN attack weapon system and nuclear weapon surety. It includes options that, if exercised, will bring the contract's value to a maximum $368 million. Work will be performed across the United States and has an expected completion date of September 2017. The $32 million Boeing contract is cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee for labor, services and materials for the Trident system's inertial navigation equipment. That contract contains options that, if exercised will bring the value to a maximum $88 million. Work will be performed in California, Ohio, New York and Virginia, with an expected completion date of September 2020. Strategic Systems Program is the contracting entity. Last week, prime contractor Lockheed Martin received a $106 million contract modification, potentially worth $788 million, for Trident II procurement.
