SAIC is to provide technical services to the U.S. Navy Sea Systems Command under a task order with a potential value of $141 million.

The services are for NAVSEA's Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems, which manages surface ship and submarine combat technologies and systems, and coordinates open systems architecture across ship platforms.

Included in services being provided by Science Applications International Corp. are systems engineering, ship integration, and testing to support product development for current and future programs and their variants: PEO IWS 1.0 (AEGIS And AEGIS Fleet Readiness), 7.0 (Future Combat Systems), and 9.0 (DDG 1000).

SAIC will also support the development, coordination and integration of technical solutions to problems inherent in the acquisition and integration of major combat systems.

"SAIC is proud to continue its support to PEO IWS," said Tom Watson, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the Navy and Marine Corps Customer Group. "We have supported this contract for more than five years, and we are honored to have been selected to continue to provide our engineering support services to PEO IWS 1.0, 7.0 and 9.0 in pursuit of their critical mission to enhance U.S. Naval capabilities and protect our nation."

The task order is for a base period of performance of one year, with two one-year options, and two one-year award terms.
