Saudi marine shoots colleague dead, injures another

 A Saudi marine killed a colleague and wounded another in a shooting spree at the Marine Academy in the kingdom's eastern port city of Dammam, the defense ministry said Monday.

"Awnan bin Fahad al-Bogami began shooting at his colleagues in a random way without targeting anyone in particular," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry named the victim in Sunday's shooting as Marzuq bin Hezam bin Marzuq al-Dosari and the wounded man as Hmud bin Abdullah bin Jebarah al-Subai.

The assailant was arrested and held for interrogation, it said.
