"I think I can, I think I can!" is a certainly a mantra that has survived the test of time. At Shenzen Goodfaith Industrial Co., Ltd. such positive thinking also serves as the brand name of its most successful line of portable cleaning equipment to date.
The 16-year old firm's ICan washing units are turning heads for their surprising versatility and effectiveness. The newest, innocuously named GFS-CL2 Smart Washer is likely the most intelligent portable cleaner on the market, well suited for day trips, extended road trips, camping, and yachting.
The Smart Washer measures 35.5 x 27 x 47.6cm, and is made of tough ABS waterproof thermo-plastic. It sports a 20-liter tank, wheels and a draw bar for pulling, a detachable LED flashlight, a six-meter hose, and a range of nozzle fittings.
The unit's rechargeable lithium battery can be powered directly by 12-volt battery, car cigarette lighter or AC source, and can generate pressures up to 130.5psi – strong enough to work as an outdoor shower for dirty humans or to blast the gunk off grimy vehicles.
"With one of these in the trunk, there really is ," says Ican sales rep Allen Qin at a recent Hong Kong trade show. "The system can be used in combination or in parts, a feature which owners like."
The device also works well around the house for general cleaning, and for draining swimming pools, bathtubs, and rain pits. The power source doubles as a power bar, with outputs for USB charging (5V/8,800mAh) and a car power socket (12V/2,000mAh).
The detachable lighting unit packs 100 lumens, can last for 50 hours, and contains a convenient SOS becon.
There is little to not like about the Smart Washer; it's cleverly designed and ruggedly constructed, and its gear works as advertised. Water pressure is consistent, and can be dialed up or down for a variety of tasks.
The pumping mechanism is bit loud but not unacceptably so, and recharge ports are handy for when electronic devices run out of juice.
