EJ200 engines used on Typhoon aircraft flown by Britain, Italy, Germany and Spain will continue to receive support services from Eurojet.

The three-year support contract awarded to Eurojet, the consortium responsible for the EJ200 engine, was issued by the NATO Eurofighter & Tornado Management Agency and is the sixth Operational Phase contract it has received.

"This contract signature marks an important step towards the future, assuring support of the Typhoon fleets for uninterrupted operations and including savings that will underpin confidence in our ambition to continuously improve the future support concept of this fantastic engine," said Eurojet Turbo Managing Director Clemens Linden.

Eurojet's shareholders include Rolls-Royce of Britain, MTU Aero Engines of Germany, ITP of Spain and Italy's Avio Aero.

More than 1,000 EJ200 production engines have been delivered to for the Typhoon fleets of six countries since 2003.
