The German military's special forces have received their 15th and final H145M multi-role helicopter through a 2013 contract with Airbus.
The H145M, previously designated the EC645 T2, is a light utility and light attack aircraft. The German military was Airbus' launch customer for the helicopter model. Airbus announced the delivery in a news release on its website Monday.
Wolfgang Schoder, Airbus Helicopter's chief executive officer in Germany, said in a statement that the "project is an excellent example of what a constructive cooperation between the Bundeswehr, the authorities and industry can achieve."
Shoder added that he'd like to pursue similar contracts in the future.
The H145M has a maximum take-off weight of more than four tons, according to Airbus. Militaries can use the helicopters for a variety of missions, including transport, supply, surveillance, air rescue, armed reconnaissance and medical evacuation.
Airbus said the German military's H145M helicopters have a fast-roping system for troops, a camera system for reconnaissance and equipment for fire support during deployment.
Airbus Helicopters signed a comprehensive support service contract in 2015 for the aircraft.
"It is evident that this kind of performance-related support contributes to the system's high level of availability for troops," Schoder said. "This close cooperation between industry and operator has proven its worth in the civil sector and is also becoming increasingly important for military customers."
Finland, U.S. amend F-18 maintenance contract
Finland as approved an amendment to a Foreign Military Sales agreement with the United States for spare parts and support for F-18 Hornet aircraft.
The $97.1 amendment – an extension of service – covers software maintenance, spare parts for the aircraft, equipment, repair, transport and training services.
