Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced Wednesday that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp. has received a $1.1 million order from a major United States defense contractor.

The order is for satellite communications products from Comtech EF Data's extensive offerings, including the KST-12025 Ku-Band Satellite Terminal, the SLM-3650 Satellite Modem and the SMS-301 Modem Protection Switch. This equipment will be deployed as part of a satellite communications infrastructure.

"This order is another example of Comtech's ability to deliver advanced solutions to the government and military sectors," said Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp.

Comtech EF Data's modems are designed to communicate with the world's major satellite systems, including the Defense Satellite Communications Systems (DSCS). The SLM-3650 Satellite Modem with Turbo Product Coding (TPC), offers the industry's most bandwidth efficient forward error correction.

Comtech EF Data Corp. manufactures a broad spectrum of Data and RF products for satellite communications, including Satellite Modems, Network Monitor and Control Software, TCP/IP Performance Enhancement Proxy, Converters, Solid State Power Amplifiers, Transceivers and Satellite Terminals.

All products meet or exceed the standards published by Intelsat, Eutelsat, Insat, AsiaSat and other worldwide and regional satellite networks.
