U.K. to repay Iran $650 million for tanks
London (UPI) Apr 27, 2010

Walker's World: Lone Ranger losing Tonto
Washington (UPI) Apr 26, 2010
Britain's general election has become one of those moments when life imitates art, or at least, when international politics follows a script from the movies. Nick Clegg is the leader of Britain's third party, the long-derided Liberal Democrats, who has electrified the election by leaping forward in the televised debates and opinion polls to be at level pegging with the Conservatives and ... more

Taiwan's military simulates Chinese air attack
Hualien, Taiwan (AFP) April 27, 2010

Journalists were invited for the first time to a drill simulating aerial assaults on Taiwan's major air bases and testing the military's ability to recover quickly from such a shock. The manoeuvres, s ... more

Fears grow over oil spill off US coast
New Orleans, Louisiana (AFP) April 27, 2010
The Gulf of Mexico oil rig disaster will develop into one of the worst spills in US history if the well is not sealed, the coast guard officer leading the response warned Tuesday.
