A Swiss-based equity firm is entering the defense-related business sector through the acquisition of an Airbus Defense and Space electronics plant in Belgium. Terms of the acquisition of the facility in Oostkamp, Belgium, by Parter Capital Group AG were not disclosed. Airbus DS, however, said, the site will continue to deliver high-quality electronics parts to Airbus Defense and Space, including primary- and secondary-radar components, power amplifiers and transponders. "By this strategic move, Airbus Defense and Space will consolidate its electronics production capabilities and develop further synergies," Airbus DS said. "It also enables Airbus Defense and Space to satisfy long lasting delivery commitments for highly complex defense related products. The company said its divestiture of the plant in Belgium is in line with its strategy to strengthen its core business. Parter Capital Group is a private equity firm that has been acquiring science and technology companies over the past 15 years.
