The Cooperation Council for Arab States of the Gulf intends to create a unified military command.
This agreement was reached at the annual summit of leaders of six Arabian monarchies, which include Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The summit ended Tuesday in Manama. According to the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdul Latif al-Zayani, the joint leadership of the armed forces will be tasked with commanding the land, sea and air forces. This, he said, would be conducive to improving collective security in the region.
