Ball Aerospace Wins MASINT Delivery Order Contract
Dayton OH (SPX) Jul 25, 2007 The U.S. Air Force has awarded Ball Aerospace and Technologies a $1.45M delivery order contract for the Measurement and Signature Intelligence Distributed Exploitation Element Squadron Stand Up. Ball Aerospace, and its teammate Raytheon Company, will coordinate with the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and the Ohio Air National Guard to stand up the MDEE to provide timely, integrated analysis of MASINT and Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) data for Air Force Distributed Common Ground System users. Ball Aerospace has provided support in exploitation of MASINT and AGI data for NASIC, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, for 23 years. Ball's expertise is in developing algorithms and software tools used to process and analyze data from a number of MASINT and GEOINT sensors, including overhead non-imaging infrared, thermal infrared, spectral, radar and radiofrequency sensors. The NASIC intelligence products that result from Ball's capabilities in MASINT and GEOINT directly support on-going military operations, national decision makers and other members of the intelligence community. Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. supports critical missions of important national agencies such as the Department of Defense, NASA, NOAA and other U.S. government and commercial entities. Google Earth Helps Argentina Tax Man Uncover Fraud Buenos Aires (AFP) Jul 24, 2007 Argentina's tax authorities are using satellite images generated on the Internet by Google Earth to track down fraud, local media said Friday. According to Buenos Aires province tax official Santiago Montoya, images of properties from the sky can help square the actual size of properties with that declared by taxpayers to make sure the proper amount of taxes is being paid, the reports said. |
