Battle Memorial Institute has received a contract to modify commercial trucks and SUVs for the U.S. Special Operations Command. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee deal spans seven years. Its estimated worth is $170 million. The contract involves modifying commercial trucks and SUVs, retaining the original equipment manufacturer's profile while supporting the integration of armor, heavy-duty suspension and brakes, run flat tires and wheels, and communication equipment. The contract will be funded at the delivery order level with procurement appropriation. Most work will be performed in Ohio, with an estimated completion date of July 2023. Special Operations Command is the contracting activity.
