China wants to purchase Russia's S-400 anti-aircraft missile system to replace the S-300 system, a military and technical cooperation official told reporters on May 6. China has placed an order but didn't specify the required amount. Russia will also modernize a spate of missile systems it earlier supplied to Jordan, a spokesman for Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said on Monday, citing a bilateral agreement to this effect. Valery Varlamov said that the Strela-10, the Osa-AKM and the Sjilka anti-aircraft systems have been put on service in Jordan since the mid-1980s.
Russia wants to protect Europe from the south The station could be part of the shield if Russia makes a respective deal with the US and NATO, the official said. The Ministry of Defense invited foreign defense officials to show that Russia has all means for international ABM cooperation. Source: Voice of Russia
