Sydney, Australia (SPX) Oct 08, 2024

ADA Space, a Chinese AI satellite internet technology company, has successfully completed in-orbit testing of its AI large-model technology aboard a recently launched satellite, the company announced on Sunday.

Between Sept 25 and Oct 5, the satellite conducted 13 tests of its AI large model. These tests examined various inference questions under a range of operating and temperature conditions, ensuring the model's performance in space.

According to ADA Space, the tests confirmed that the company's AI large model is well-suited for space environments. Additionally, the satellite demonstrated the reliability of its computing platform and the high-performance payloads' ability to operate effectively in space.

Looking ahead, the satellite will begin generating 3D remote-sensing data using AI in orbit. These AI-powered 3D imaging capabilities will enable a range of digital twin applications, benefiting sectors such as low-altitude economies, cultural tourism, and sports.

The satellite was launched on Sept 24 aboard a Smart Dragon-3 carrier rocket from waters near Haiyang in China's Shandong province.
