Cubic Global Defense will continue providing rotational and pre-deployment training exercises at the U.S. Army Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana.

The services continue until June 30, 2017, under contract modification from the U.S. Army Contracting Command and represent a ninth year option under a 2001 award.

Its value is more than $52 million.

"JRTC is a critical element in the military's Joint National Training Center initiative with its goal of training joint force units," said Dave Buss, president of Cubic Global Defense. "Cubic is committed to maintaining JRTC's excellent reputation of offering realistic training to our warfighters and will continue to fulfill the Army's requirements in providing mission readiness services to better prepare them for actual battlefields."

Under the contract, Cubic assists the JRTC with integrating U.S. and allied forces into rotational training exercises through scenarios focused on decisive action and theater-specific operational environments. The exercises are conducted for units targeted for deployment in support of ongoing international operations and include situational training, live fire, force-on-force and integrated live, virtual and constructive training.

Cubic also provides expanded role play, technical support for combat training instrumentation, battlefield effects, video and cultural role players for added realism.

The JRTC at Fort Polk, La., is provides the training at the Brigade Combat Team level. The center trains light infantry, air assault, airborne and special operations units.
