Harris Corporation has announced the opening of a new facility in Florida that will support development of advanced software for its tactical radios. The facility, which is 19,000 square feet in size, is located in Sunrise, Fla., and was opened on Monday. It will support the company's engineering activities and also serve and the sales hub for the sale of company products and services in Latin America and the Caribbean. "Opening our new development center in Sunrise enabled us to quickly add a significant number of highly qualified engineers with expertise in advanced software-defined radio waveforms," said Dana Mehnert, group president, Harris RF Communications. "Expanding our development capability will help us maintain our leadership position in tactical radios and networking, and underscores our commitment to continue investing to provide the government with the most innovative and affordable solutions in the industry."
