Military shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls Industries has finalized its purchase of cyber intelligence and unmanned aircraft developer Camber Corporation. In a statement announcing the acquisition's conclusion, Huntington officials revealed Camber's assets will be reorganized into a new division called HII Technical Solutions. The new division, the company adds, will be used to support software development, training systems, logistics, and other services. "Camber brings a broad array of capabilities to the HII team, and we are excited about the possibilities of growing the combined businesses," Huntington CEO Mike Petters said in a press release. "This is an important investment in the future of our company, and we welcome Camber to the HII family." The new division will be formed by a combination of Camber Corporation and existing Huntington Ingalls subsidiaries, including AMSEC, Undersea Solutions Group, Newport News Industrial, and Continental Maritime of San Diego. Andy Green has been selected to lead the new division. "This new division will enhance strategic and operational alignment among our services businesses, expand opportunities for growth and, because it is a reportable operating segment, improve performance transparency," Petters added.
