Israel Aerospace Industries opens Mexico office by Richard Tomkins Washington (UPI) Dec 7, 2017 Israel Aerospace Industries has opened a new representative office in Mexico as the country increases its defense sector imports. Israeli Ambassador to Mexico Jonathan Peled and local representatives attended the opening of the office this week, according to a company news release. "We consider Latin America, and specifically Mexico, as an important market, with significant potential, both in the defense and commercial markets," IAI Executive Vice President of Marketing Eli Alfassi said at the the opening. "Our new representative office is aligned with IAI's strategy to bring its technological solutions to the customer's door, offering solutions that answer the customer's precise needs, and providing real-time available and accessible services." Israel Aerospace Industries said Mexico imported more defense systems between 2012 and 2016 than all but one Latin American country. Mexico increased the number of imported security arms during that time by almost 200 percent.
Washington (UPI) Dec 4, 2017 French and Italian naval builders, the Naval Group and Fincantieri, are offering an off-the-shelf class of warship for to the Royal Canadian Navy.
