Kabul (AFP) Dec 1, 2009
US President Barack Obama and Afghan leader Hamid Karzai on Tuesday discussed the details of Washington's new military strategy for the war-torn country, Karzai's office said.

It gave no further details.

Obama is later Tuesday expected to announce deployments of up to 35,000 more troops to battle Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants, and to secure Afghan cities.
