MARSS, a global innovator in AI-enhanced security and surveillance, has successfully completed the handover of NiDAR-powered protection systems at two major naval bases in the Middle East. These cutting-edge solutions provide comprehensive defense against evolving threats across multiple domains.

The bases, among the region's largest, are now safeguarded by an advanced multi-layered security network integrated with MARSS' NiDAR platform. This system establishes a protective "dome" over each site, covering aerial, surface, and underwater threats, enhancing situational awareness and response capabilities.

Addressing Emerging Security Threats

Modern naval bases are increasingly targeted by sophisticated threats, including unmanned aerial and maritime vehicles, as well as human divers engaged in surveillance, smuggling, or direct attacks. MARSS' NiDAR 4D system counters these risks with real-time data fusion, allowing operators to detect, track, classify, and respond more swiftly than ever before.

NiDAR 4D is a next-generation AI-powered command and control system designed to deliver full-spectrum situational awareness and automated threat response. The platform integrates seamlessly with an array of sensors, including radar, sonar, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) cameras, and radio frequency (RF) detection, consolidating critical data into a single operational interface.

Equipped with AI-driven threat analysis, NiDAR 4D autonomously categorizes and prioritizes threats, enabling personnel to focus on immediate dangers. The system also provides automated response recommendations, ensuring rapid and effective countermeasures. This integrated approach significantly reduces reaction times while optimizing operational efficiency and minimizing operator fatigue.

Advanced Multi-Domain Defense Capabilities

To deliver these cutting-edge defense solutions, MARSS collaborated with leading technology partners, integrating state-of-the-art sensors and countermeasures. The deployed systems include Terma and Leonardo DRS RADA Technologies radar for surface and counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) detection, BlueHalo RF detection, L3 EO/IR cameras, and Sonardyne sonar arrays for monitoring underwater threats. Additionally, Kirintec's electronic warfare countermeasures will be utilized to neutralize autonomous hostile systems.

Strengthening Regional Security with Scalable Solutions

These newly protected installations represent a total contract value exceeding $50 million. With both sites fully operational as of Q1 2025, they are now equipped to defend against a broad spectrum of modern threats.

Rob Balloch, Chief Growth Officer at MARSS, emphasized the importance of integrated defense solutions, stating, "With asymmetric threats evolving at an unprecedented pace, the need for intelligent, integrated defense systems has never been greater. MARSS is proud to deliver these capabilities to our customers across the GCC, ensuring that vital naval infrastructure remains secure against both current and future threats."

As MARSS continues to expand its presence in the Middle East, the successful implementation of these advanced security systems reinforces its role as a trusted partner in protecting critical assets worldwide. The company remains committed to advancing AI-driven security solutions that reshape modern defense strategies.

Canada is prepared to join US President Donald Trump's proposed development of an "Iron Dome" missile defense shield, Defense Minister Bill Blair said Thursday. Blair, in a call with reporters at the end of a trip to Washington, said Canada was already an "essential partner" in the joint protection of North America, through NATO and the NORAD joint air defense program. "Frankly, an integrated missile defense system for all of North America is the thing that makes sense to everybody," he said, ra ... read more
