Raytheon Delivers First Operational DCGS 10.2 System
Garland TX (SPX) Jun 12, 2008 Raytheon has delivered the first operational Distributed Common Ground System 10. 2 to the U.S. Air Force. Dubbed DGS-2, the system is the first of five planned core sites to undergo installation, integration and checkout in preparation for site acceptance testing at Beale Air Force Base, Calif. "With the delivery of the DGS-2 system to Beale, the Air Force DCGS 10. 2 truly moves closer to the sharing of real-time intelligence data to fight the war on terror," said Anthony DiFurio, director of Multi-Intelligence Systems for Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems. "The DCGS 10.2 upgrade will provide continuous on-demand intelligence brokering to enable U.S. and coalition forces to get the information they need to take action and influence events in a significantly shorter amount of time." When fully fielded, DCGS Block 10.2 will be a worldwide, distributed network-centric enterprise architecture that enables collaborative intelligence operations and production. Its environment provides for both the physical and electronic distribution of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data analysis and tools.
