Berlin, Germany (SPX) Dec 23, 2024

Reflex Aerospace has announced the successful shipment of its first commercial satellite, SIGI, to Vandenberg Space Force Base on December 11, 2024. This milestone mission will deliver a payload to orbit for Media Broadcast Satellite (MBS), showcasing Reflex Aerospace's ability to produce custom satellites efficiently. Weighing 109 kg, SIGI reflects the company's promise to deliver high-performance, rapidly deployable solutions in the NewSpace industry.

Walter Ballheimer, CEO and Co-founder of Reflex Aerospace, commented, "We are thrilled by the successful shipment of SIGI, which reflects our core mission - delivering high-performance, rapidly deployable satellite solutions. There is a growing need for high-performance satellites for a variety of challenging use cases. And we are ready to meet it by mass customizing our products."

The company's quick turnaround timeline, from order placement in June 2023 to flight readiness in August 2024, highlights Reflex Aerospace's focus on speed and quality. SIGI represents the first of four signed commercial contracts, underlining the company's early success and growing validation in the NewSpace sector.

The satellite is slated for launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket during the Transporter-12 Rideshare mission, scheduled for no earlier than January 2025. Further technical specifications remain confidential due to mission sensitivities.

As Germany's first venture-backed small satellite manufacturer, Reflex Aerospace has secured over 16 million Euros in funding from prominent investors, including Alpine Space Ventures, High-Tech Grunderfonds, and Bayern Kapital.
