SELEX Galileo's Mastiff 2 IVS Heads Towards the Front Line
Abu Dhabi, UAE (SPX) Mar 19, 2009 SELEX Galileo is pleased to announce the first production deliveries to NP Aerospace of their latest Indirect Vision System (IVS) to be installed on the Mastiff and Ridgeback fleet. The contract for approximately 400 systems, secured after intense competition, will equip the latest generation of protected mobility vehicles with a state of the art indirect vision capability providing 360 degree visibility. The SELEX Galileo system includes both thermal and daylight cameras fully integrated with the SELEX Galileo video distribution and control system. This new generation of hardware can be easily reconfigured for different missions if required through the use of SELEX Galileo's "plug and play" camera interface which is already in service on Challenger II, Viking and Lockheed Martin's MLRS. Colin Horner, Vice President Sales and Marketing Land Systems said "We are delighted that the MoD chose to maintain coherency in its current fleet of vehicles. The interchange-ability of hardware between platforms will provide the army with a greater level of IVS capability than previously experienced and offers significant advantages in support and equipment availability. The new system is easy to install and operate and has significant expansion capability which enables simple integration with Remote Weapon Stations, Mast Mounted Surveillance Cameras, and remote video feeds from manned and unmanned Air and Ground Vehicles.
