Saab upgrading training system for Bulgaria by Richard Tomkins Orlando, Fla. (UPI) Oct 8, 2015
Bulgaria's military is to receive an upgrade and expansion of its live-training training systems from Saab Defense and Security USA. The upgrade and expansion of the training systems comes under a contract between the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation and Bulgaria under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program. "We are honored to have been selected by the U.S. Army Foreign Military Sales office and the Bulgarian Armed Forces for a delivery of this nature," said Cyndi Turner, vice president and general manager for the Training and Simulation business unit at SDAS. "This contract is important in that it increases the training capability of our NATO allies and helps garner strength and stability in Eastern Europe." Saab said its Deployable Instrumented Training System hardware will be integrated into the Bulgarian Armed Forces existing training systems, which was also provided by the company. Contract value, performance period and system components were not detailed.
