Lockheed Martin reports that four of its facilities have been recognized by the U.S. Defense Security Service for superior industrial security.

Awarded with the 2015 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Awards were Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, Fla.; Mission Systems and Training, also in Orlando; Mission Systems and Training in Marion, Mass.; and Information Systems & Global Solutions, Littleton, Colo. (Deer Creek facility).

To receive the award, a facility with security clearance must have had two consecutive superior industrial security reviews, show sustained security excellence and innovation in their security programs. More than 13,000 facilities of various companies were nominated for the 2015 awards and only 41 received it.

"With less than one percent of cleared facilities receiving this recognition, these awards are a tremendous honor for Lockheed Martin's security professionals, who work tirelessly to protect our people, facilities, intellectual property and classified information systems," said Lockheed Martin Chief Security Officer Robert Trono. "Our relentless commitment to continuously improving our security procedures plays a critical role in our ability to support our military, intelligence community and other government customers."
