The Space War Editorial Team produces Space War's coverage of military space and defense technology. We report on missile defense and space-based systems, nuclear weapons and arms control, drones and directed-energy weapons, and the great-power competition shaping security beyond Earth. Articles reflect our team's collective editorial process, source verification, drafting, technical review, and editing, rather than a single writer's work. First stage problem in last minute of countdown; 24 hour scrub

Miami (AFP) April 28, 2017 - SpaceX on Sunday scrubbed the launch of its first military launch, with a classified payload for the National Reconnaissance Office, which makes and operates spy satellites for the United States. The scrub occurred in the final minute of the countdown due to an issue in the rocket's first stage. No details have been made public about the payload, known only as NROL-76, which was first announced last year.
