OSI Geospatial announced Thursday it has signed a teaming agreement with the Marine Systems division of L-3 Communications to pursue opportunities in the worldwide naval market.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will jointly market and sell products including integrated bridge systems, navigation systems, homeland security systems, geospatial applications, command and control systems, and related training and human engineering applications.

"We set a goal this year to secure a partnership with a top-tier defense contractor and today's agreement achieves this goal," said Ken Kirkpatrick, OSI Geospatial president and chief executive officer.

"This partnership fortifies our strategy to strengthen access in both the U.S. and international markets and also solidifies the relationship established earlier this year with L-3 Marine Systems when we signed a contract for a U.S. Navy program," Kirkpatrick added.

L-3 Marine Systems provides system solutions for vessels in several major U.S. military programs, including CVN77, LPD17, LCS, and DD1000 class ships.

By combining L-3 Marine Systems' leadership in integrated bridge systems with OSI Geospatial's expertise in navigation systems, the two parties said in a news release they expect to secure participation in new and existing defense programs around the world.
