Scalable Network Technologies, a developer of network simulation software, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Boeing Australia to provide software and services for the modeling of military communication networks.
The Boeing Australia Systems Analysis Laboratory is based in Brisbane and provides advanced technical and management decision support for the exploration of emerging and future technologies for the Australian Defense Force (ADF).
QualNet software will model communications in a simulation environment comprised of multiple military simulators running in real-time.
The goal of the SAL is to simulate hundreds of military entities in real-time through a distributed, constructive simulation-based analysis facility. The simulations will model the entire Australian mainland and areas of direct military interest.
Shane Arnott, Lab Director for Boeing Australia, added, "We are focused on detailed combat simulations with fixed sensors and mobile entities. To date, QualNet has successfully delivered the scalability and level of detail we need to explore the dynamics of our military communication networks, current and future."
"SNT is very pleased to be involved with the SAL at Boeing Australia," stated SNT's Founder and CEO Rajive Bagrodia.
"The goals of the project are well-aligned with the strengths of QualNet because of the real-time speed requirement. From sensor networks, to those employing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to Over the Horizon Radar (OTHR), the range of communication technologies modeled at the SAL is broad. Our network simulator QualNet is versatile enough to adapt to all of these network environments."
